Over the course of my professional life, I’ve been a Case Manager, a Victims’ Advocate, a Retail Associate, a Waitress, and even a Trampoline Park’s Court Monitor—but I’ve always, always been a writer.

Not necessarily by job title or external recognition, but because I’ve always been writing. And while the Capricorn in me loves to win an essay contest, I view this art as something far deeper than a means for accolades or profit.

Language, to me, is the most powerful and magical tool that we possess. It’s a conduit for connection and understanding, a catalyst for growth and changed perspective. It’s how we shape and share the stories that define us—which is why I don’t take the work that I do lightly.
